Gaussian Process Winter School 2015

The Gaussian Process Winter School is targeted at facilitating the understanding of Gaussian process models both in theory and practice.

Registration period: Nov 22th - Dec 15th.

Fees: no fee.

times: 9.30-12.30 am and 2.00-4pm

Monday: Probabilistic Approaches to Regression

Tuesday: Gaussian Processes

Wednesday (only morning): Multiple Output, Non Gaussian Likelihoods and Low Rank Approximations

Thursday: Latent Variable Models with Gaussian Processes

Venue: Classes will take place at the Department of Informatics Bioengineering Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS) of the University of Genova in Via Dodecaneso 35, 16146 Genova. See here for directions and travelling information. All classes and laboratories will be held in room 363 (third floor).

Genova is in the region of Liguria in the Italian Riviera (see here or here for some nice pics and a video)

Please download and install the software required for the laboratories before coming to class:

Download Anaconda
run the terminal commands:
- conda update conda
- conda update ipython
Install GPy. Run terminal command: pip install GPy
Install pods. Run terminal command: pip install --pre pods
You can start the notebook by running the terminal command: ipython notebook (Note. you will need Firefox or Chrome browsers). Here you can find a short tutorial on how to use the IPython notebook.
